Most of our products feature free standard shipping within the 48 contiguous states. We do not hold any furniture stock, all pieces are special ordered. Custom made furniture may not be returned for any reason.
All items that are in-stock ship within 1-2 business days and will arrive within three to five business days from the ship date. In the event of a delay, we will notify you by email. Items sent directly from our suppliers may take longer, and items ordered together may not arrive in the same box. Due to the custom nature of many of our items delivery lead times will vary. Please refer to the product pages for estimated delivery time for all items.
Freight shipping for oversize items
Furniture and large items often ship via freight carrier. Most carriers schedule deliveries Monday through Friday between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Freight companies will contact you a few days prior to the delivery to schedule a delivery date and time frame (typically 2-4 hour blocks) that works for you.
If your scheduled appointment is missed, you will be charged a delivery trip fee. Please do not arrange for the items to be delivered when no one is home to receive them. Although our suppliers take great care in packaging their goods for shipping, damages may occur in transit. Furniture items must be carefully inspected BEFORE you sign for the delivery. If the furniture happens to arrive with any defects DO NOT sign for the items, contact us immediately while the trucking company is there so that we may discuss the best way to handle the situation. If you are not able to get in contact with us, please either refuse the delivery or note the damages and status of the packaging materials on the bill of lading and sign for them. Coastal Cottage Home will be unable to assist you in the replacement of damaged goods or reimbursement if the above procedures are not followed.
If you need to reschedule the delivery with our carrier please contact them as soon as possible so as not to incur any charges for missed delivery appointments. For standard freight delivery our shippers deliver furniture to your driveway. In-home (White Glove) delivery is available if you would like the item placed inside the threshold of your home or in a particular room with all packing materials discarded. Freight items can only be shipped within the contiguous United States.
Freight shipping notes and delivery times
You can find a reasonable estimate of the delivery time (example - allow 3 to 4 weeks) specified on every product page. It is important to note that these are estimated shipping dates only and can not be guaranteed by Coastal Cottage Home. Occasionally issues arise that are beyond our control that may lead to additional production time, such as our manufacturers experiencing a backup in production. If this is the case you will be alerted as soon as we are made aware that any problem exists.
It is important to note that once a piece leaves our manufacturer’s facility, the remaining shipping time is beyond our control. Coastal Cottage Home functions as a liaison to ensure merchandise is transported safely to you, and although this process most often proceeds smoothly, delays and damages may be caused by the freight company. We will do our absolute best to assist in getting your furniture to you in a timely manner and in good condition and will notify you immediately if we are made aware of any expected delays or problems. It is essential that you inspect all freight shipped items very carefully and DO NOT sign for your piece if you suspect any damage.
In home (White Glove) delivery for large freight items
In home delivery is available for many of our large furniture items for $100. Upon delivery, our shippers will unpack, place these furnishings in the room of your choice, up to 2 flights of stairs and discard the packing materials. If White Glove delivery is available for an item, it will be presented on the item’s product page. Small furniture items will be shipped standard UPS for front door delivery, or you can select White Glove service for an additional charge (see product page for prices).
When damages occur during freight delivery
While we do our utmost to ensure your items arrive in a timely manner and in perfect condition, there are some things that are out of our control. Our freight carriers handle your pieces with great care but it is important to understand that from time to time damages do occur. If your piece arrives damaged, the freight company reserves the right to have the piece repaired and brought back to the manufacturer’s standards at their expense. They do this by sending the piece to a furniture medic or back to the manufacturer for a repair/rebuild. If the freight carrier determines the piece cannot be repaired, you have the right to be reimbursed for your purchase or have another piece rushed at no additional charge and shipped out to you as soon as possible.
Drop ship items
Drop ship items are shipped directly from our manufacturers and artisans to your door. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions regarding what items are in stock or will be drop shipping to know when you will receive your order.
Additional shipping charges
Some of our items require additional charges to ensure they arrive at your home in safe and sound condition. Artwork, lighting, glass and delicate items may need to be securely carted and packaged, requiring special handling fees. Any additional shipping charge above our standard shipping cost is noted on the product page.
Order status & tracking
When your order is processed, you will receive an email notification that your order has been received. Using your Coastal Cottage Home account, you can review your Order History which will include the status of your order.
International shipping, shipping to non-contiguous U.S. states
Coastal Cottage Home can ship to Canada and non-contiguous US states, however additional shipping rates will apply. Shipments to Canada will be charged for additional shipping taxes and duties. We will notify you via email how much additional charges will apply to your order or you may contact us directly for a quote. Note that "free shipping" items do not ship for free outside the continental US. At this time we do not offer international shipping. Delivery to Post Office boxes
Our deliveries are sent by UPS or freight carrier. Post Office box delivery is not available.
